Ulcers on the trunk include those on the chest,back and abdomen.
You do not often get ulcers in these areas unless it is Pyoderma gangrenosum occuring in the breakdown of surgical wounds.Ulcers due to stasis,arterial insufficiency,neuropathy and diabetes tend to occur in acral areas on the lower legs and arms.Skin malignancies in these areas may break down into ulcers.A biopsy is therefor obligatory in any chronic ulcer in these areas.
